I first probably became aware of Benazir Bhutto as she entered the international stage as a powerful (and polarizing) woman leader.
I remember reading that when she attended Harvard, she had been known as Pinky.
This humanizing factoid often came to my mind when I saw her name in the media, serving to remind me that world leaders are more than just the images we see in the press.
Rest in peace: leader, mother...Pinky.
